It’s hard to think about, but animals are abused every single day.

They’re taught to fight one another, they’re neglected, they’re left behind when families move. While it’s easy to ignore the problem, it’s not right.

Mr. Jelly Lord is one of those unfortunate souls who was abused presumably his whole life.

When Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption pulled him from animal control, it was clear Mr. Jelly Lord had suffered from severe abuse.

His ears were terribly cropped and he was missing half of his jaw.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));

His rescuers assume he was once a fight dog, but that doesn’t mean he’s even the least bit aggressive. In fact, he’s kind of a goofball.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));

var OX_ads = OX_ads || []; OX_ads.push({ slot_id: “537251602_56f5f5859fc00”, auid: “537251602” });

After he arrived at the shelter, Jelly was placed in a foster home where he’s now getting spoiled.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));

He’s learning the joy that comes from a loving home and lots of toys.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));

Jessica, Jelly’s foster mom, knows that a good attitude is what Jelly needs — she likes to jokingly say that he “just ha[s] a prominent overbite.”

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));

He may look a little menacing with his big pit bull head, but when it comes down to it, he’s just a big snuggle bug.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = “//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3”; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, ‘script’, ‘facebook-jssdk’));

It won’t be long before Mr. Jelly Lord is ready to go to his very own forever home. If you think this adorable boy is perfect for your family, you can fill out an adoption form on the rescue’s website. You can also keep up with his happy adventures on Facebook.

We’re just glad Jelly gets a second chance at a happy life — all abused animals deserve that!
