During the Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan stadium in Dubai today, legendary racer Fox Hunt was only an eighth of a mile into the race when he broke down in the center of the track, breaking at least both front legs. Here’s a quote from the detailed story in Racing Post:

Frankie Dettori, who was riding stablemate Opinion Poll, added:
“It would have been a disaster if they’d have carried on. Thank God they had officials in the car to tell us.”

Multiple Twitter reports are stating that Fox Hunt had to be euthanized because of the severity of his injuries.
